With Mark Cocker
aclaimed naturalist and author
21st October 2023 9.15-1pm
Spend a morning exploring the glorious range of animals and plants that live on an organic, nature friendly farm in October. Examine the (live) contents of our moth trap and go on into the wider landscape to look for birds, insects, trees, bumblebees, dragonflies, butterflies, plants, fungi. We will look at everything that calls this agricultural landscape home at this time of year with the aim of exploring how wildlife adjusts to reduced sunlight and the lower temperatures of a Suffolk Autumn.

A One Day writing Workshop for beginners and experienced writers.
23rd September 2023
9.30am - 5.30pm
We all have a true story about ourselves and our experiences to write.
When we go to the effort of committing that to paper, we want to make sure it will engage the reader, whoever they are. This Compelling day will help you focus on how to go about it and give you a real inspiration and enjoyment from the process.
Every step will be expertly guided by Tom Henry, a highly experienced professional writer of memoirs.

Why Shimpling Park Farm ?
The location and barns are rustic and beautiful. They are as environmentally sustainable as possible - heated entirely with renewable fuels and in the heart of our organic farm. A unique family venue.
Where are we?
In the middle of Suffolk – 50 minutes from Cambridge, 1 hour 30 mins from London with good road and rail links from Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds
Can I get married here ?
The legal registration has to be done at Church or in the Registrary Office. Here you can design your own ceremony to make your ceremony totally unique to you.
How many people can I have?
You can seat from 10 up to 80. You could have up to 100 if you want extra evening guests to dance later!
What comes with the barn?
The barn is your “blank canvas”. We have plenty of Vintage style trestle tables and chairs, a bar and props. You can dress the barn as you wish.
How can I arrange the barn?
From round tables to long tressels to herringbones or outdoor in the pretty courtyard under lights, you set up the look you really want.
